Reagan was all for free trade as long as it benefits Americans and helps us sell our products by opening up foreign markets for our goods. But that’s not what’s happening. We’re being flooded with foreign goods and they’re putting our factories and our people out of work. Trump wants to get a handle on that.

Thanks for your reply.

I agree completely. Our entire “global trade” policy is based on sending jobs overseas.

That is not how it should work, and that is not what Donald wants. Nor is that good for America.

What we are doing is deindustrializing our very own nation. Big time.

Isn’t it our own regulatory Fifth Column that is sending our companies overseas?

Exactly. Trump has been very honest about using the system as it existed for his benefit, and that included donating to both sides and “getting along” with people. But it has been obvious since the very beginning that Trump was not happy with the direction the country was taking, and he knew it would lead to ruin. Eventually he saw the moment had arrived he needed to step up.
