Ryan is NOT facing a difficult primary challenge.

We shall see. I worked with the Brat campaign to defeat Cantor in the primary. Nobody gave Brat a shot.

He is a stealth candidate with no discernible GOP or Wisconsin roots

Does that really matter? He moved into the district in 2014. At least he has lived there for close to two years, unlike Hillary who waltzed into NY and became a Senator with almost no time in the state. He has the endorsement of Palin, MIchelle Malkin, and the Tea Party Patriots.

I really don't care if he wins or not. He is challenging a RINO who supports amnesty, the Gang of 8 bill, increases in H-1B visas, and more free trade bills that have decimated jobs and moved our manufacturing abroad. He is an arrogant SOB who has spent his adult life feeding at the public trough enriching himself.

Nehlen will be lucky to pull 15% in the August primary.

IMO he will be lucky and get much more than 15%. The bloom is off the rose for Ryan.

Trump was only able to pull 31% in Ryan's congressional district.

Cruz got 51% to Trump's 32% in CD-1. Will the Cruz supporters help Ryan, the guy who passed the Omnibus bill or supports amnesty? Doesn't Cruz consider Ryan to be part of the Washington cartel? Ryan and Cruz have not been allies in Congress except on trade.

Given Ryan's treatment of Trump, will the 48,199 voters who turned out for Trump in the primary be motivated to do the same in August for Nehlen? Let's see how Ryan handles the meeting with Trump on Thursday.

Ryan has all the advantages. But so did Thomas Foley.

This is NOT a Trump vs. Cruz issue. This is an internal Wisconsin issue. Unlike Cantor, who ignored his local constituency to instead pursue leadership instead, Ryan reluctantly accepted the role as House Speaker and continues to return home to his district every week. Ryan holds regular town hall meetings and is extremely tight with conservative Milwaukee talk radio hosts.

While some Wisconsin conservatives have been disappointed with Ryan on some issues, the only real animosity in Wisconsin towards Ryan has come from Democrats.

He (Nehlen) has the endorsement of Palin, MIchelle Malkin, and the Tea Party Patriots.

So what. They are out-of-state interlopers who carry little, if any weight, with local 1st CD voters. Palin was literally laughed off the stage the last time she showed up in Wisconsin.

Nehlen has NOT reached out to LOCAL TEA Party groups in the district. They have never heard of him.

Further, where was Nehlen when the Unionistas took over the Capitol in Madison and fought against the conservative reforms of Governor Walker and the GOP Legislature? Where was Nehlen when those same Unionistas staged recall elections against local GOP legislators and Gov. Walker? Where was Nehlen when the Libs tried to defeat conservative Justices in the past 2 State Supreme Court races? I know where Paul Ryan was. Paul Ryan was actively helping to support local conservative GOP efforts.

IMO he (Nehlen) will be lucky and get much more than 15%. The bloom is off the rose for Ryan.

Not in Wisconsin. Ryan is still well-liked here - even if we Wisconsin conservatives are sometimes diappointed. Your opinion is uneducated about local Wisconsin politics. Local conservatives are celebrating Ryan for his caution on endorsing Trump. We Wisconsin conservatives will support the Republican standard bearer, if - and only if - the candidate bears the Party's standards of smaller government, lower taxes and reducing entitlements. That's all Ryan is asking for. And that's a reasonable position.
