He had lost three other aircraft to “accidents” before he was shot down. The only reason he was still flying is because his daddy was an Admiral at the time. The truth of the matter seems to be that he was not a very good pilot.
I stumbled upon Frank Luntz on Fox about the time this happened ( Trump lambasting McCain ) and the last women to speak said something to this effect: That Trump wasn't wrong, it is what veterans are saying on the down-low.
It was culture shock as one that hasn't served, and talking like Trump did, I have no right. However, if she is correct that Vets think this way of McCain, that is a different ballgame entirely...
