Donald Trump is giving the over-educated geeks who run the world a sharp lesson in reality
Telegraph uk ^ | Friday 6 MAY 2016 | TIM NEWARK

How we can re-balance our society to meet these needs should be the primary concern for the pointy-heads who call themselves politicians and want to brush under the carpet issues of immigration and blue-collar unemployment. Trump is addressing this brilliantly and reaping the electoral success. I have no doubt that he will trash the outdated views of the Geek-in-Chief Hillary Clinton and become President.

Like Reagan before him, Trump is the great communicator of his time, and while his style might not be to everyone’s taste he is in sync with the zeitgeist. He is bringing back disgruntled voters who had given up on the whole process and is giving them hope. Those blue-collar workers who always looked to the Democrats to give them a break now look to Trump. The under-educated—normally ignored and despised by the media—are getting their moment to speak, and they’re not as dumb as they look. They’re actually street smart, full of common sense, and way ahead of the curve on this.

Maybe the geeks who rule us at the moment, who are not doing a very good job of it, need a few extra classes in reality. That's why Donald Trump gets my vote.

Trump is the natural progression from Tea Party given control of the house in 2010 and the senate in 2014 which did nothing to thwart the Lying King of Kenya's political action plan to destroy the country.

Trump is the last hope to set the course of America back from the Kenyan’s 11 trillion dollar spending spree.

Reagan bankrupted the USSR and Obama has bankrupted the USA.

Never have professional politicians and media pundits on both sides of the Atlantic been so completely out of step with vast swathes of the electorate.

over educated? not hardly. I wouldn’t call any of them “clever.” Mostly just right place at the right time. zuckerberg is no genius. soros in Wikipedia is called “ currency manipulator,” that’s his job. he’s no genius, just dishonest. no, no brain surgeons, no Thomas Edison’s in the bunch. bunch of lucky queers

There are more than a few of us college educated professionals who work in plants with blue collar workers in support positions, engineers, administration, sales, purchasing and the like. We understand how our fellow co-workers thing and appreciate that we wouldn’t have jobs without the production workers.

Seriously now we got a Brit coming over to FR to steal my lines, or slightly rewrite them? It's bad enough Laura said something the other day that was darn close to something I posted ;-).

Very comprehensive and accurate post, Netz.
Count me as a highly-educated professional who likes Donald Trump.
In my circles it is considered "fashionable" to be against Donald Trump, even though the person may agree with all of Donald Trump's viewpoints.
The social media meme of Trump supporters being racist/provincial/dumb is trite and tiresome.

That is why when discussions turn to politics at family events, parties with friends, etc. my technique is to explain viewpoints calmly and briefly...then disengage.

My feeling is once this respectful, mannerly, and decent "Silent Majority" enters the privacy of the voting booth...Donald Trump will win in a landslide. His straightforward policies make complete sense to honorable Americans.

Freerepublic is show prep for most of the conservative media.

It is nice to be noticed, isn’t it! Glad to see that you are showing evidence of success!

“The voters supporting Trump are not JUST “blue-collar” and “undereducated” or “Angry” voters.”

I agree entirely. First, years of education doesn't equal greater intelligence, but having said that, I'm sure there are many of us just on this board who have more years of education than the average politician.

Actually, one big problem is that too many of those in politics are clueless. The fact that Trump could Waltz in from a career in real estate development and take on a crowd of career politicians and media people, without using notes or media consultants etc., and kick their collective backsides, is testimony to the fact that government does not attract or consist of the ‘cream of the crop’. This is one reason they hate him. In their minds they are ‘special’. He points out that they are ‘emperors without clothes’.

It is, but I say it jest as well. Sometimes I am captain obvious and those with just a lick of common sense or conservatism can come to the same conclusion, or... are they petty word thieves.... Hmmm... ;-) lol!

They don’t use big words, they use doublespeak. They talk in circles and don’t say anything. They are liars. 4th grade? Simple isn’t stupid. I’ve had enough lawyer-talk.

Trump is merely a stopping point on the path to the end of the Republic. The reason Trump is looking to be the nominee is that the GOP refused to address the concerns of it’s base for decades.

Now, the GOP is done. No matter what happens, the party is split. Trump will be unable to do much, because his own party is going to actively work against him.

Yes, we are in trouble.

So, what country in the world would you be willing to trade positions with?

He has nothing like Reagan's eloquence and charisma as a communicator. But what Trump does have is the ability to cut through the baloney and the stifling political correctness and speak plainly about the issues which concern millions of us.

Democrats have been throwing hay-makers at conservatives for decades now while the GOP elite which is supposed to represent us responds by scolding conservatives for objecting to the constant pummeling and telling us we deserve it. Trump hits back, and hard. He knows how to play the media, which is the tool of the Democrats.

Very well said.

Great article, thanks for posting. I think this is the first positive Trump article I have seen in a British newspaper.

It is difficult in mixed circles to say you support Trump. It is not fashionable or politically Correct and besides, once you say it, you are seen as a primitive, dumb*ss.

I do try to persuade people but on a very logical basis. I always ask my opponents if they think the last 8 years have been good or bad for America. Only the die-hard, ultra lefties defend Obama to their last breath. The more sober among them look down at their shoes and reluctantly nod their heads in agreement.

I hope the “Silent Majority” and the denial Republicans turn around and come on in November to hand Hilliary a devastating defeat.

Trump has proclaimed in a loud and clear voice:

The Emperor has no clothes!

They are trying to shut him down by all means.

I hope the Secret service protects him well...
