Sen. Jeff Sessions said Thursday night that House Speaker Paul Ryan made an error by saying hes not ready to support Donald Trump yet, and said Ryan and other leaders need to realize the Republican Party is shifting under their feet.
I think this was a big mistake, I really do, the Alabama Republican said on Fox News. And Im very surprised, frankly, since hed indicated hed support whoever the nominee was.
The speaker of the House is a big leader, an important figure in the Republican Party, he added. He calls on House members every day to stand with him and unity, and he needs to set a good example for Republicans.
Ryan shocked political observers by saying he wasnt ready to endorse Trump, and Trump followed by saying he is not ready to support Speaker Ryans agenda. Despite the bluster, reports soon followed that the two are trying to arrange a meeting.

I like Newt or Jim DeMint.
McCain was the reason for my very slightest hesitation to vote for the R ticket in ‘08. SP was the ONLY reason I did.
The senate hates conservatives. The so called conservative senators hate conservatives
They are in office to promote the cheap labor takeover of our country. They are most adept at pushing away people like sessions. They are not going to let him lead anything
Not even veep
Watch for the bush family and loyalists to try to get a veep in
Let’s get Jeff Sessions to be the Vice Prez (and therefore President Pro Tem of the Senate), and also ask the House to elect him Speaker. Yes, it’s Constitutional. That’d shut Paul Ryan’s lying face.
Same here. SP was my only reason in ‘08. I’ve lost love for her since, though.
Ryan drew a “not so smart” line in the sand. So it is either him or Trump. I’m suggesting the Speaker just limited his term. What a great way to get rid of him.
Hunter from California. Military, which Trump loves. Trump should come out and say first that he had in mind Ryan and Graham till they went AWOL. Keep the pressure on these losers. Then low energy Jeb was a consideration but he was too lazy to respond.
Trump needs to be on his plane this weekend visiting Ryan’s opponent Paul Nehlen. It will convey in no uncertain terms the cost of splitting allegiance on the revolution.

An excellent way to show Ryan who is BOSS!
I like “ Support Trump or your ass is grass.”
John Kasick (sp?). Only because it would bring Ohio into the Trump column.
I love me some Sessions. He would be a wonderful addition!
“I am thinking that Jeff Sessions fits the requirements as the number one candidate for vice president. He is high energy and most important he knows the inner workings of the congress and how to get bills moved along. Sessions also has many of the same values as Trump which is also very important to Trump. Don’t know who else it would be”
At the very least wouldn’t it be cool if Sessions has some input on who the VP candidate is? I trust his judgement.
I agree, Ryan needs a demolition team taken to him.
He is arrogant and drunk on ambition just like Cruz.
This little slimer needs the snot squeezed out of him.
Senator, Jeff Sessions is right on the money in stating that the Paul Ryan move not to endorse Donald J. Trump was a big mistake on his part. Actually, Paul Ryan has destroyed his political career, just as Romney, the Bushies, McCain, Graham, will now, not be remembered with decent legacies!!!
Yes it would be pretty distracting watching all the liberal heads explode from a Trump/Palin run. Oh my would sure be something to watch.
I love Palin, and would love to see her in a Trump administration but not as Vice President.
Duncan Hunter would be great. I still like Herman Cain. That would really make Barrack jealous.
Sessions could fill one term VP and should Trump run again, he could then choose a VP fitting the needs he sees for a VP at that point - and that person may be able to run in 2024.
People need to stop thinking everything has to be so precisely calculated to fit what has been the norm. Trump is presumptive nominee - is that “normal”?

That could be a definite possibility.
Wouldn’t that mean Sessions would shave to be in the Senate most days they work?
I see how that could be very useful in helping Trump get things passed, but kind of tie Sessions up for other usual VP duties?
