I’ve heard that a teacher or school worker is not allowed to physically touch a student, otherwise be charged with assault themselves.

is this true?

If a kid is out of control or threatening others, teachers can’t intervene?? Is this true?? If so, that explains a lot. These kids then are in a position of knowing that teachers can’t do anything.

Back in my day, teachers did and could restrain out of control kids.

We don’t have corporal punishment anymore, but, really, can’t we have some common sense standards to deal with these situations?

And who teaches these ghetto youth to go to school and call the teacher a mother——— and all that???? Holy blank, would never have been allowed in my day.

No. Teachers can defend themselves if attacked. That's the real problem.

The other problem is cell phones. Now every situation is caught, edited and on line before the real facts are known.

The cop that decked the kid is an example of editing. You saw the takedown, never saw the hours, days, weeks or months that built-up to the event.

You can bet if the principal called in the SRO this was a really chronic problem with the little kiddie.

yes, there is a court battle right now. a teacher tried to stop a fight and got his head beat in. now the teacher has brain damage and the school district refuses to pay his bills. the school district claims it is against our policies to put a hand on a child, even if it is life threatening conditions.
