I remember using Rand McNally maps when I was a kid. I was the navigator for family trips.

Never could get those maps to fold back correctly.

Part of the problem probably was the fact that our arms weren’t long enough yet.

The maps were designed for adults, not children, to fold.

Or, maybe you were just a clutz <:)

I know what you mean about those maps not folding. How many writers have used that in a gag for movies too? Haha.

Same here. Could never get them to fit back in the glove
compartment correctly! I was so impressed when I went to San Diego and there were the Thomas Bros. maps in book form! It was amazing to me that I could look up a street and find it on the grid. Small pleasures. :) Now, everyone “has an app for that”.
