President Obama commuted the sentences of 58 inmates Thursday as part of his ongoing initiative to release federal prisoners who have received severe mandatory sentences for non-violent drug offenses.
With this latest round of commutations, Obama has granted clemency to a total 306 inmates, 110 of whom were serving life sentences. Obama has said he will continue granting commutations during his final months in office to inmates who meet certain criteria set out by the Justice Department.
Since the Obama administration launched its high-profile clemency initiative two years ago, thousands of inmates have applied. More than 9,000 petitions are pending.
Here are the names of the 58 prisoners who most recently received commutations, according to the Justice Department:
Jasmine Allen Bunnell, Fla.
Offense: Conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of cocaine base; manage or control a residence for the purpose of unlawfully manufacturing, storing and distributing a controlled substance; distribution of five grams or more of cocaine base; Middle District of Florida
Sentence: 235 months imprisonment; five years supervised release (Nov. 5, 2008); amended to 188 months imprisonment (Feb. 29, 2016)
Commutation Grant: Prison sentence commuted to expire on Sept. 2, 2016.

Seems there’s literally nothing stupid the king of buttwipes won’t do. He deserves to be hounded when he leaves for every illegal action.
Well, at least he freed a major coke dealer. Now Obama can get uninterrupted supplies......
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
58 more drug dealers back on the streets.
How many peoples’ OD deaths are they responsible for?
It is long past time for congress to enact ground rules for presidential pardons and commutations. A lot of state governors now have such rules.
The prisons are overcrowded...so anybody who finds themselves serving a 10 year+ sentence has probably committed multiple offenses, and pled them down, before finally accumulating so many strikes that it was no longer in the judge’s hands.
IOW, these guys are hardened criminals.
Without looking, how many of them are Muslims or M13 gang members?
President Obama commuted the sentences of 58 inmates Thursday as part of his ongoing initiative to release federal prisoners who have received severe mandatory sentences for non-violent drug offenses.
I’ve heard there is more than meets the eye with this story.
The key fact which is omitted, is that many of these offenders are in prison based on a plea bargain. Officially and legally, they are in prison for a non-violent offense, HOWEVER, that’s simply the charge they pled guilty to, not necessarily the most serious crime they actually committed.
The impression that Obama and liberals want to give the media and the rest of us, is that there are tons of people in prison for using drugs, and that these individuals committed no other crime. They want us to believe that cops swept up someone smoking a marijuana joint off the streets, and threw them in prison for a long prison sentence, without any justification or reason behind it.
50 grams of Cocaine base
Okay. That’s not crack. Is it?
Bingo.
Article and comments.
Thanks, Nachum. The soothsayers have predicted this for the past four years.
How many grocery stores are on the hook for obesity?
This is why nobody takes you seriously.
Selling 5 kilograms or more of cocaine
That doesn’t make the guy a drug dealer. Does it?

Argument preview: What is cocaine base? Posted Fri, February 25th, 2011 6:21 pm by James Bickford
"In its natural form, cocaine is a molecule found in the coca leaf. The parties disagree as to the chemical nature of that molecule but, when it is extracted from coca leaves to make coca paste, the result is by all accounts a base. Coca paste is then combined with an acid to produce cocaine hydrochloride"commonly known as powder cocaine"which is a salt, not a base. Powder cocaine can be converted into crack or freebase, both of which are bases. The relevant molecule in coca paste, crack, and freebase is identical; only powder cocaine (and, perhaps, coca leaves) is chemically distinct. There are also differences in consumption. Coca leaves are generally chewed, while crack, coca paste, and freebase can all be smoked. Powder cocaine decomposes at relatively low temperatures and is therefore unsuitable for smoking."
The Chicago Outfit (same one that controls Aruba for you old Natalie Holloway freepers) has probably deposited a few mil in Barry's offshore account.
They might have even agreed to a commission on future sales...with unlimited supply of the best toot for Barry and butt-buddies.
Same source as post #15: "The Controlled Substances Act, 21 U.S.C. § 841(b)(1), distinguishes between "coca leaves," "cocaine, [and] its salts" on the one hand, and "cocaine base" on the other. As originally passed in 1986, the Act mandated the same minimum ten-year sentence for offenses involving either fifty grams of cocaine base or five kilograms of cocaine in other forms. (It was recently amended to raise the trigger to 280 grams of cocaine base.)"
Hard drugs. Pushers.
Nasty people.
They'll probably describe him as an "undocumented pharmacist".
Pushers
Obama thinks they are A-Okay.
Even the guy pushing angel dust
