Cruz, ending GOP bid, says 'we left it all on the field'

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, abruptly suspending his Republican presidential campaign Tuesday night after another crushing primary defeat to Donald Trump, assured emotional supporters in Indiana that they helped grow an “extraordinary” movement – declaring his team “left it all on the field” in their final push.

ADVERTISEMENT "It appears that path [to victory] has been foreclosed," Cruz told supporters in Indianapolis. "Together, we left it all on the field of Indiana. We gave it everything we've got, but the voters chose another path, and so with a heavy heart but with boundless optimism for the long-term future of our nation, we are suspending our campaign."

The underdog candidate, who all along had vowed to force Trump into a contested convention in July, stunned supporters by dropping out following a big loss in Indiana. Some people in the crowd could be seen crying and hugging each other.

But Cruz indicated he has no plans to fade away.

“I am not suspending our fight for liberty,” Cruz said.

While snoopy people are asking for FOIA and getting hard copy of Cruz’s travel documents beginning in the 1950’s, others could be leaking old stuff.

My best guess was that he was a Castro neophyte loyalist planted there by Castro operatives within the USA. He was an admitted activist as photographed at UT. They would have possibly bribed Cruz into UT. Or the degree, itself, is ‘nontraditional.’ Cruz may have been used as an ‘asset’ by the agency for a short time and then dropped when no longer useful- likely a low-level player or unknowing character associated with nefarious others. Probably freaked out as the investigations continued and decided to head north- 3,000 miles.

In 1959- normal route to send a cuban boy on his own would have been to Miami. He would have been living with friends of friends or distant cousins from his town. Lots of Catholic church help, a single phone call would have plugged him in to a home. There are several colleges and universities in Miami to earn a math degree. Miami is “little Havana.”

Actually yes to your question. I have met with and read the interviews of some of Rafael’s generation who left Cuba ‘57-’61. They all claimed that Cuban operatives were responsible for jfk’s death. Whether it was retaliatory for Bay of Pigs or the long arm of Fidel, I don’t know. At the time, it seemed far-fetched, but who knows where the truth lies, I never was motivated to research the grassy knoll.

What was it the Trump supporter said to Cruz. “Get out of here no one wants you! Indiana doesn’t want you!”

I saw that, and the first thing that popped in my mind was FR.

Bla bla bla c-ya lyin’ loser. No one will forget the nasty person you are who lacks character.

I left Connecticut 18 years ago. Every time I go back to see family and grab an apizza I see further decay. It is not healthy to stay in the area, particularly if you have children. It is fit only for cloistered contemplative religious and stoic 75+ year olds who know that this too shall pass.

JimRob gave guidelines for this board at this time. This Cruz supporter followed them. Follow Mr. Trump's gracious and thoughtful words about Sen. Cruz in last night's speech in your postings. This is not the time for childish blather.

FRiend, you're either being disingenuous, or you're delusional. Remember this "gem"?

Those are the two most un-appealing children of a candidate that I can remember seeing.

Classy, that. Makes one wonder how on earth anyone could "mischaracterize" your posts as being any sort of ad hominem slam against Cruz's kids... [/sarc]

- Cruz is a globalist by word and deed.
- Reagan slapped more tariffs than any modern president.
- The word tariff stuck in Cruz's throat.
- Cruz tried to cloak his open borders and globalist record by hiding behind religion.

EXACTOMUNDO!

Lyin' Ted & Heidi have always been Bushie Establishmentarians with a direct connection to the Goldman-Sachs NO BORDERS NAU.

We just completed Step 1 of our hostile takeover of the GOP from the Establishmentarians.

To allow any Establishmentarians like Lyin' Ted & Heidi back into any position of power would be suicide and defeat our original goal.

Read and believe the rest of my posts this thread or don't.

The noting of poor behavior of Heidi's girls in public (on stage and on camera) that I found un-appealing, you find to be a "slam". You twist my words to suit your own agenda, disbelieving what I have said in other posts that I meant in fact. Why?

Why are you playing a mind game? To convince me you know my intent in post 11 better than I do? To convince others that you do?

If you won't accept these my further explanations, then slither away just as you have prior to your picking a fight with me today.

Cruz had no chance against Hildebeast. Now it comes out, of course.

That’s rich.
And for the record....he said cruz’father was with him before the shooting. Not that he helped shoot. That was after cruz’father asked ppl to fast and pray against Trump.
Enjoy the election. Consider: if you have difficulty voting for Trump, you may have more difficulty with the new supreme court under hilz.

That’s right. Cruz is a good man. I despise the crap said about him. Trump needs to make up with Cruz for sure. I’m voting Trump. And I’ll try to get other Cruz supporters to do the same. They are great people.

I know you need things spelled out for you, so here it is: tie him to the JFK assassination by association. Good grief, do try to figure things out before embarrassing yourself.

Sorry, but when the National Enquirer is the “other media” no one takes it seriously. Trump brings it up to connect Ted Cruz to the assassination by association, or are you being deliberately obtuse?

Enjoy the election. Consider: if you have difficulty voting for Trump, you may have more difficulty with the new supreme court under hilz.”

What he said:

“His father was with Lee Harvey Oswald prior to Oswald’s being — you know, shot. I mean, the whole thing is ridiculous,” Mr Trump said on Tuesday. “I mean, what was he doing — what was he doing with Lee Harvey Oswald shortly before the death? Before the shooting?”

http://www.bbc.com/news/election-us-2016-36195317

No, he didn’t say that Cruz’s dad polished the gun, or sighted it in for Oswald. But he clearly said, based on pee-poor evidence, that the two of them were working together just before the shooting. “I mean, what was he doing — what was he doing with Lee Harvey Oswald shortly before the death? Before the shooting?”

And there is NOTHING wrong with Cruz’s father, or anyone else, asking people to reject Trump, or asking them to fast and pray. It is a free country. People can support anyone they want, and fast and pray for anyone they want. There is nothing comparable in asking someone to fast and pray to suggesting someone’s dad was in collusion with a communist murderer.

Right now, the US Supreme Court is the main reason I’m willing to hold my nose and vote for Trump. But the cult of personality is repulsive, and so is a lot of what comes out of Trump’s mouth. Donald Trump is an ass. An ass with a liberal background. I suspect Hillary will manage to “out-ass” Trump. But if one of my kids behaved like Trump, I’d disown him.

Worship Donald if you will. But don’t pretend he is an honorable man or a conservative. Don’t pretend his long history of vitriolic and baseless attacks are helping unite anything. He’s a candidate for Kardashian America. Maybe you are proud of that. I’m not.

I’ll join with a lot of other Americans and pray for the US tomorrow. But most of my prayer will be about repentance.

If I still resided in Connecticut, I'd be dyin' to be dyin'. Save some of that emotion to try and unseat Danell Malloy, a boy born soooo poor that his mom and dad (if any is known) were too poor to spell Daniel.

Or you could run for the state senate as Tom Scott did years ago or more recently Len Suzio and help Joe Markley with the heavy lifting against the Marxism crippling the People's Republic of Connecticut these last 25 years since the enactment of Lowell Weicker's state income tax on wages and salaries.

Or help to get rid of Comrade Blumenthal. Even the late NY Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan had his number way back in 1962. You can find the interesting observations of Moynihan on Blumenthal in his 1962 book Maximum Feasible Misunderstanding about the rise of radical leftists to seize the NYC Democrat Party from the conservative old Irish bosses of Tammany Hall, a putsch led by people including the very young and tres radical left Blumenthal.

You could go to work to get rid of Connecticut's other Senate disgrace Christopher Murphy who, with a name like that, probably had actually Catholic ancestors. Or to get rid of Rosa DeLauro, the radical Congressthing who won't be satisfied until we have national taxpayer paid Diapercare.

I could take you on a stroll through the General Assembly Leadership like Looney and Sharkey and so many others, but I am sure you get the point.

Dr. Sivana's mom and other immediate birth family members still live in Connecticut so he goes back from time to time.

I am not so generous in that I left in March 2015 and returned once a couple of months later to obtain dismissal of serious felony charges against a client in a Connecticut court and the client had to pay airfare and lodging and ground transportation. Shook the Connecticut dust off my boots, retired and moved to very rural NW Illinois.

Buy a clue from your POTUS candidate who struck the right tone last night or from Cruz who did likewise. They will get together against Comrade Grandma. Now the real challenge is uniting their supporters. I will vote for Trump but there are a LOT of rightfully raw feelings out there. The tactics of the primary campaign must not become the new normal. We will cheer Trump if he can get away with effectively leaving Hillary's political corpse in a dumpster by language and vilification but then it must end.

A lot of us would also like to see a lot more substantive and credible conservatism. Not being Comrade Grandma will get most of our votes but more conservatism is the only path to our enthusiasm if it is to show up. He can be trusted on borders, guns, veterans, probably military re-armament, ending Muslim immigration until somehow we can reliably identify the nutcases among them, if ever, and maybe trashing Common Core and a few other things. We have to be convinced on the babies, marriage, foreign policy specifics, Obozocare, taxes, limiting spending and a lot of other things. He'll get our votes because he is not Comrade Grandma and not Moral Monster Mitt Romney. Enthusiasm does not come free.

“tie him to the JFK assassination by association”

Which means you’ve engaged in projection.

Because he did try to tie him to anything. YOU filled that in yourself.

“I simply cannot stand this phony SOB. If I hear that slimy snake-oil salesman voice of his again...”

Do you really want to see Trump win in November? Or are you all in for hilda? The thing you have to keep in mind is, there are millions who feel the same way about Trump .. that he’s a phony SOB, a slimy snake-oil salesman, and more. They have their reasons whether or not you agree.

But the rhetoric does nothing whatsoever to help Trump win in November and might drive enough people away to make a difference.

It’s Trump who has to build some bridges and mend some fences, and show himself to be a leader, presidential.

Offering perspective here: Trump needs to win over the almost 60% in North Carolina that went to the candidates he called vile names, another 61% in Tennessee, 67% in South Carolina, 65% in Virginia, 73% in Texas, 56% in Alabama, 67% in Arkansas, 61% in Georgia, 54% in Florida, 64% in Kentucky, 58% in Louisiana.

I’ll also mention, even though Trump beat out Cruz and Kasich in Connecticut, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and New York, the dems beat Trump in those states.

He needs Ohio, but if that means putting Kasich on the ticket ... well, I’m just saying. Hoping he doesn’t complicate matters with that!

Yes you did Senator Cruz. Thank you for trying to wake people up and remind them of why our Constitution matters. (Sadly they just don't want to hear it right now.)

Thank you for doing the right thing for our country by dropping out. (I never had any doubt that you would do what was right for the country.)

Thank you for vowing to continue the fight for Liberty and our Constitution.

You and your family should have never been subjected to the vicious personal attacks you've had to endure during your campaign.

God bless you and your family.
