Oh how horrible! Speaking as someone who has had a lot of adverse reaction to medications, I have never had a reaction like the one you had.
I am so glad you were able to pull through with the help of your precious pup. I believe that your dog was protecting you, with out a doubt!
Just curious, what was the medication? It scares me when I have to take a new med, I avoid it if possible.
No, it was a Newfoundland. Labs barely existed.
I knew a fairly young lady who was crazy about her basset hound.
I once recited that epitaph to her and asked her if she thought that was true—about the dogs having all the good points of humans and none of their faults.
She said immediately,
“Yes. When I come home from work my dog is totally happy to see me. He never criticizes the way I do my work. He never says, ‘Your hair doesn’t look very good today.’ He accepts me exactly as I am.”
