Cruz apologizes for spreading rumor about Carson dropping out

Your link does not demonstrated that Cruz lied.

"Last night when our political team saw the CNN post saying that Dr. Carson was not carrying on to New Hampshire and South Carolina, our campaign updated grassroots leaders just as we would with any breaking news story," Cruz said in a statement.

"That's fair game. What the team then should have done was send around the follow-up statement from the Carson campaign clarifying that he was indeed staying in the race when that came out.

"This was a mistake from our end, and for that I apologize to Dr. Carson."

He admits his staff made a mistake. None of that establishes that Ted Cruz has lied.

In fact, it is the people who call that a lie, who are the LIARS. They are the deceitful fact-challenge prevaricators. They are the ones who need to be constantly hammered for trying to deceive people.

even Cruz’s response and phony apology sounds insincere. He was basically justifying the idea they spread the lie, but just that they should have followed up with a retraction. That’s the same exact thing as when the New York Times falsifies a story and then prints a retraction 4 days later on the back of the comics section. The damage is already done and it was an attempt to smear or decive which is another word for lie.
