I always thought it was some kind of Vermont holiday,
dancing around a Maple...

Then there was always the Toronto Maypole Leafs...

We did this at my grade school in Kansas during the late 1940’s and early 1950’s. Practiced every day for two weeks before so we would get it right. All the girls dressed in pink dresses with white aprons and pink and white ribbons on the Maypole. Fun memory.
