Al Regnery on Republicans’ Sentencing Reform Bill: ‘Too Many Innocent People Will Get Hurt If This Bill Gets Passed’

Alfred S. Regnery joined Breitbart News Daily SiriusXM host Stephen K. "left-wingers will say that, in order to let the people that shouldn’t be in jail out, we’re going to have to let out a lot of violent criminals"

We are so called "conservatives" supporting this?

Since they are legalizing pot everywhere I would agree with reviewing the sentencing of NON-VIOLENT pot felons.

But that is all.

I have worked with many police agencies- they all say they rarely have to break up a domestic with potheads.

The bill calls for sentencing "innocent" people? I'm pretty sure you have to get convicted guilty before you can be sentenced.

Most federal crimes should be handled at the state level. Even if a criminal commits a crime across borders, in most cases he should just receive a punishment from each and every state he committed crimes in.

The only reason there are so many federalized crimes is because congressmen and presidents want to appear tough on crime.

That's also why we have RICO, NSA snooping, asset forfeiture, etc.

Bravo to all the "conservative" Republicans who give liberal dems and pubbies cover by allowing them to vote on "tough on crime" legislation that just migrates state responsibilities to the feds.
