It reminds me of how McCain became media darling in 2000 primaries. Graham and McCain are two Republicans the liberal media could love, because during most of their Senate careers, they've spent more time attacking conservatives in their own party than attacking liberals. Now that Romney (like McCain) is no longer running against Obama and spends most of his time and energy attacking Trump, he's been redeemed in the eyes of the liberal media too.
My biggest gripe these days is not about backstabbers like Graham but that the Capitol Rotunda 2nd floor is by far the busiest area of the Capitol as Congress members do TV spots. Meanwhile, the Senate and House chambers have been all but deserted even during critical votes and for literally years on end thanks to the cynical, cowardly nature of ‘leaders’ including Reid, Pelosi, Boehner, McConnell and Ryan.
The biggest problem with Congress is not partisanship, it’s cowardice. The media are only to happy to facilitate governance by arguing on the boob tube but it has theoretical and practical limits.
