In broad daylight at 10 AM Thursday, 19 year old nursing student Jessica Hughes was attacked and beaten by a pair of muggers whose race the media do not care to mention, as other passengers on the train did not lift a finger to help her.

I was born and raised in the city of Chicago. Loved it. Took the bus and the El all the time. Now, though, I would be a lot more careful—what time of day, what neighborhoods I would be going through, if I would be “outnumbered,” if you catch my drift, etc. This young woman was OK on time of day, but she was going through a bad neighborhood, and when a whole bunch of people got off at one stop, she was definitely outnumbered. Even in the ‘60s and ‘70s you had to be “street smart” about these things, but now it is worse.
And don’t forget to have Bernie Goetz with you too.
Another thing needed, a Good Samaritan law to protect people coming to the rescue of people being assaulted from criminal and civil government persecution. Did I mention armed civilians?
I would do it differently.
Have two one dollar bills easily reachable in your pocket.
Offer it to them, but with your arm not extended at all, with your hand hardly in front of your hip, so that they have to step in near you to take it.
Kick them in the knee when they do.
If there is any crowd there, they will immediately become spectators when they see the ‘robber’ writhing on the ground.
You mean like Obama-—with Eric Holder, Loretta Lynch, Susan Rice, Jeh Johnson, the entire Obama Justice dept, NASA head Charles Bolden, etc etc
That’s fine if you are a 6ft 200lb man, but more difficult if you are say a petite five foot 2 inch woman. Your life is never worth what material possessions you may be carrying.
