On 840 south of music city....no traffic....I beat that speed by 10 or so on the autobahn tween Munich and Stuttgart in 1987 in a 928S4 tweaked by Ruf....my pregnant wife screaming bloody murder beside me.....that 179 was with my then 23 year old now 26 year old daughter beside me praying out loud...Porsche's 300 horses with that rear end and light weight really punches out from 70-150 or so remarkable fast for a used car I bought in 2007 for 25,000 bucks and 40,000 miles...I've put prolly 5000 in it since excluding tires....118,000 miles now....id drive it to LA tomorrow

You are inspiring me to go take another look at the new ZL1 with 660 hp... and a top end of about 187. We could then meet out on the salt flats and do what people do...

The 928 S4 is an underrated classic. And if tweaked by Ruf, oh boy.
179? I’ve never driven close to that fast. Topped out at out 135 once in a 1990 911 Carrera 4 in So. Oregon. Older 911s can be REAL nervous at that speed. Especially with a little crosswind. The retractable rear spoiler didn’t do much to stabilize it either.
Thankfully I had no woman in the car chewing me out.
