Believing that a nation-state is the best way to promote individual freedom and prosperity makes perfect sense to me.
If a one world government goes crazy who will then stop them? Space invaders?
But if a nation state goes wacko, they make enemies who at least engage in push back, often war. And that state might be destroyed, but that is good in the long run.
