So... a candidate who does not reach 1237 is not the nominee, but one who does reach 1237 is not the nominee ?

Candidates could save a lot of money. Don’t spend any during the campaign, get very few delegates, then go to the convention on fire and win the nomination.

This guy is just playing games to stir the pot in that he is
correct that no one is the OFFICIAL nominee until the
convention vote reaches 1237 for someone.

It might not matter to this particular official, but it should. Denying events does not keep them from happening and bearing their consequences.
