"Nearly one-in-four voters say they will stay home or vote third party if Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are the major party presidential candidates.

I imagine most of these would stay home no matter who the candidates are.

I was wondering the same thing. 1 in 4, 1 in 5,,that doesn’t sound too bad to me.

Esp at this stage in the game.

It is a poll of likely voters, the ones who usually do show up.

Only about 60% of the population that can vote, does vote in Presidential elections.... Of anyone who is considered a likely voter sits out, they will be replaced by someone who’s become motivated to vote for the first time in a while.

I trust nothing about polling for an event 7 months in the future as to telling you where things will be then. They tell you where things are now, not where they will end up.

I predict you will see typical if not slightly above typical overall turnout in the fall.

Better than 1 in 3 always stay home.

Guess it’s time for those who have been pointing to prior polls showing Hillary ahead to announce that polls are inaccurate and don’t mean anything.

Sadly, it sounds like a representation of the members of this forum.
