Many Christians have had it with the total disregard of the current administration concerning Islamic persecution of Christians, and they are taking to the streets in droves in California and Idaho. On Sunday, a crowd of nearly 60,000 people gathered around the Turkish Consulate in Los Angeles and protested.
The Christian Post reports:
Tens of thousands of Armenian Christians gathered in California and Idaho Sunday, calling for justice, on the 101st anniversary of the Armenian genocide, which President Barack Obama chose to call "mass atrocities."
Some in the crowd of about 60,000 that rallied at the Turkish Consulate on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon chanted "Get your hands off our land!" while others shouted, "Eastern Turkey is western Armenia!" according to Los Angeles Times.
In Twin Falls, Idaho, several others gathered at City Park to commemorate the anniversary, according to KMTV. "Forget me not. That's exactly what we are doing. We will never forget that," Svetlana Movsesyan, an Armenian, was quoted as saying.
The gathering on April 24 marked the beginning of the genocide of the Armenians in 1915. You can read more on the Armenian genocide from Ileana Johnson here and here.
Understand that the Armenians remained largely Christian up until the time of the genocide. As the Huffington Post reported:
"Rape and beating were commonplace," wrote acclaimed historian David Fromkin in his Pulitzer Prize-winning book on the Ottoman Empire's downfall, A. "Those who were not killed at once were driven through mountains and deserts without food, drink or shelter. Hundreds of thousands of Armenians eventually succumbed or were killed."
An Armenian man in Istanbul, who as a schoolboy discovered his family was Armenian, told The WorldPost one story passed down to him by his parents: His grandfather, too exhausted to walk any farther in the death march toward the Syrian desert, refused to go on. He would rather drown than walk another mile to his death, he told the Turkish Ottoman guards. And so, the man says, they held his grandfather under the water until he was dead.
And still, the Muslims continue to commit murderous atrocities to Christians, Muslims and other non-Muslims throughout the world. Yet, Barack Hussein Obama Soetoro Sobarkah cannot bring himself to link terror with Islam. He simply engages in taqiyya. He will not call it Islamic terrorism and he will not call it genocide.
A senior spokesman for the Obama administration said, "The president has consistently stated his view of what occurred in 1915, and his views have not changed. The president and other senior Administration officials have acknowledged as historical fact and mourned the deaths of 1.5 million Armenians who were massacred or marched to their deaths in the final days of the Ottoman Empire. They have stated that a full, frank, and just acknowledgement of the facts is in our all interests, including Turkey's, Armenia's, and America's."
In his own words, Obama provided a statement that avoided attributing the genocide to Islamists and once again sidestepped the term genocide.
"Today we solemnly reflect on the first mass atrocity of the 20th century the Armenian Meds Yeghern when one and a half million Armenian people were deported, massacred, and marched to their deaths in the final days of the Ottoman Empire," the statement read. "As we honor the memory of those who suffered during the dark days beginning in 1915 and commit to learn from this tragedy so it may never be repeated we also pay tribute to those who sought to come to their aid."
However, the people, for the most part, know better, despite the fact that Huff Post attempts to cover for Obama not labeling the Armenian genocide as genocide, claiming "already strained relations would likely only worsen with Turkey."
Still, these tens of thousands of Christians are reminding the world, despite a media blackout, of what the true face of Islam is.
"It affects everybody when we have a sort of tragedy like this so it's important that we come together and make remembrance of such events," Father Michael Habib of St. Ignatius of Antioch Church said. "Forget culture, forget religion. As people we need to support one another. Especially in times like this."
While I agree with most of his comment, the fact is that we cannot forget either culture or religion. Islam is the enemy of the West. The West is Christian, or at least it was built upon the Word of God and the teachings of the Bible, including the Law of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. One cannot deal properly with Islam, unless one first understands that it is anti-Christ at its core and the battle is first and foremost a spiritual one.
No more Muslims and no more burglars who sneak into our country and help big government spend out money.
When it comes to the persecution of Christians in the world these days............
..........EXCLUSIVLEY BE MOSLEMS, YOU KNOW...............
........today’s “Christian” churches aren’t worth the proverbial bucket of warm spit.
They’re losing parishioners BIG TIME—and deservedly so.
Christ’s “followers” no longer serve him.
Did you know that Muslims are coming to faith in Christ in unprecedented numbers today both in this country and in predominately Muslim territories?
With the support of 60,000 moderate Muslims at their side.
No?..... why not? ....It’s the religion of peace, right?
And it’s nothing new. There were something like 20000 martyrs in Nicomedia(now Turkey) in the 303.
Some things never change, there are a ton of Catholic martyrs in the early church who were murdered in one fashion or another in Turkey.
No, he isn’t. Legal muslims and others here, who are law abiding, will be left alone. Trump doesn’t want MORE allowed in, without proper documentation.
60,000 protesting the Turkish consulate in Los Angeles not making the news?
Just wow.
I didn’t know that. Perhaps you could post some articles and figures that would allay our fears of a Muslim invasion.
