I agree, the audience would start to clap but he wouldn’t stop speaking. It wasn’t meant to be a clap every statement speech. He meant it to be no clapping.

BTW, every single speech. Not once... NOT ONE time have I heard a vocalized pause. I will admit, not with Cruz either.
