There are third-party candidates, of course, and there is the simple fact that not everyone views being ‘Not-Hillary’ as a compelling reason to make a positive assertion of support (in the form of one’s vote) for any given candidate.
We could, of course, go back to the old ‘Voting one’s conscience’ vs. ‘Voting strategically’ argument, but that boils down to a matter of personal philosophy and thus, I don’t think, can either side be productively argued here.
