I was treated for breast cancer about 6 yrs ago at our local cancer center. Comprehensive Blood and Cancer Center.
I wanted people that cancer was all they did......not some hospital.
I had my lumpectomy in a hospital but chose the surgeon and the hospital myself. Once I was done with the surgery all my visits were to the same doctor at the cancer center....for 5 years. They are affiliated with UCLA and I was part of a study. Couldn’t have asked for better care.

I agree with you. I suspect that there are some really good cancer centers available throughout the US, based on my small sample size. I was diagnosed and treated at a regional hospital chain here in Indianapolis. The cancer center was 9 minutes from my house, 20 minutes from my place of work, with several pharmacies on the way. I could not have asked for better treatment.

It's a bit frightening, but I think Obamacare and the future of advanced cancer medicines are in opposition to each other. Government healthcare doesn't want to pay for targeted therapies, IMRT and immuno-oncology.
