He did give a good explanation and it was clear, concise and to the point and it appears what dirty teddy is doing is technically legal. I still think its a sleezy way of doing things. But each state has the right to do what they want. For cruz and Kasich its all about the second round if there is one. I’m betting there won’t be.

Yeah, I hear what you’re saying; each state has it’s own rules. I’m wondering how many voters know about these rules? Not excusing ignorance, but I think most average joes and janes don’t make it their first priority to know these particular rules. They only know that they vote for the person they like.
Maybe Rush can sell this to the voters who got shafted in Colorado and Wyoming.
What has the people so angry?
It’s not that the rules were always there, it’s that the rules are designed to keep the establishment in power and the voter impotent.
I would prefer the GOP just stating that they will no longer put delegates on a ballot (just understood that they would be appointed by GOP) as least I could respect them being honest enough to own up to the rules.
And we “ordinary voters” would know what we’re up against and and that the donations to the GOP could be put to better use for our candidates than the party -—
You are right Art. I doubt anyone knows about these rules and it is a sleezy way of doing things.
The problem is not “rules,” but this:
Year after year, we are regaled with pep talks about how we need to get more people to participate in politics, that we need more people to vote, and we need to bring more people into the Republican Party. You CANNOT do this on a national/big scale, then turn around and through “rules” make their votes irrelevant. I don’t care how proper it was, it LOOKS corrupt to all those people who were just told their votes don’t count.
It’s just the opposite of what Rush says about Cruz: he is NOT being smart about this. He had a way to get the delegates AND do it so that he seemed like a voice of democracy. He could have done this in a number of ways I explained. But this all smacks of a political version of “witness tampering” to average people and it’s Cruz’s fault to NOT figure this out.
