Back in 2000, I wanted to join FR in a hurry. "Nutmeg" for the Nutmeg State (CT) was the first name that popped into my head. I was surprised the name wasn't already taken. I admit I don't have much knowledge about all things nutmeg however. :-/
Oh. A nutmeg scraper is a tiny little encased microplane from centuries ago that was used to scrape nutmeg, obviously. I don’t know how to post photos so maybe someone can do so. Your fellow resident, Joseph Plumb Martin, of the famous revolutionary war memoir, carried one and typically, lost it on his many retreats and advances with Washington’s army.
