I was conscious of being in a vast empty pitch black ‘space’ just floating around, alone- no God, No Devil, no nothing- and the sense of helplessness that came over me about never being able to escape this state of ‘nothingness’...

I have heard that description before from others who have had NDEs. The overwhelming feeling they described as 'despair'.

I can’t even begin to describe how gut wrenchingly hopeless I felt- it was overpowering- It was torture- It was pure fright- We’re a people geared for companionship- (most people anyways)- and when the realization sunk in that I was completely abandoned- alone, floating in a vast sea of nothingness- forever- no escape- Wow! If that is what hell is going to be like- My goodness- it behooves everyone who is unsaved to seriously evaluate where they really wish to spend eternity- I had the sense in that state of mind that I was never going to be able to ‘just get used to it’ too- There was a sudden realization that this frightening experience was going to be everlasting-

Despair, dread, fear- all wrapped up in one- it was too much to bear-
