Buford Pusser was portrayed by Dwayne Johnson in Walking Tall. Dr. Cameron McCarthy, who is played by Morgan Freeman in a Dolphin’Tale is actually a composite character of two orthopedic surgeons, Kevi Carroll and Dan Strzempka who invented the tail for Winter, the dolphin. Oenomaus was a Gallic gladiator played by Peter Mensah. I know Hollywood has a history of whitewashing black figures but that, as much as anything was to uplift them.
