Bet you can’t name more than a couple things on the trump agenda that you think are truly bad for America.
I think you are underestimating JimRob. He has a track record for tolerating other views and not zotting their proponents so long s those engage in civilized debate. I am not pinging JimRob because I don’t want this post to look like sucking up. It is not. I oppose Trump as much and as colorfully as anyone here but I am not feeling any heat.
What is being said is simple:
1. Hillary (or whoever they would install instead of her) is the polar opposite of conservatism. She is a totalitarian leftist who would wield power to destroy this country. She would be the clincher to the bamsters evil design to transform us all.
2. The ongoing race to the nomination is virtually done. Like it or not, Trump is the going to win the nomination. It's done, it's over, all it takes is math and the will to do the math.
3. For Cruz to continue now that he is mathematically eliminated helps no one but the totalitarian left. There is no path to the nomination, not even on a second ballot, that math is simply not there for him. Cruz not bowing out gracefully allows an unnecessary fight that will ultimately hurt whoever opposes Hillary. Every #nevertrump ad run in every state hurts, every $ spent on Cruz or the #nevertrumpers is a dollar wasted that could oppose our real enemy. Every minute the front runner has to keep his eyes off of destroying Hillary is a minute given up.
I believe it also hurts Cruz. He can be a gracious uniter, or a bitter loser. Choose the former and you save your future career in politics. Choose the latter and he goes down as a bitter asterisk in the race for the 2016 presidency. So, you can fight on with Cruz if you like, but it won't help. It will only hurt. If you love conservatism, then the right course is to back off and unite against the totalitarian left. The sooner people do that, the better.
That doesn't mean you stop being a conservative, nor does it mean you stop believing in conservative principles.
It just means you have come to grips with reality.
Your only little issue is that you are only willing to accept YOUR Conservatism as you see it, or as those ranky politicians in DC tell you what you are to believe it is.
Just like every other word in our language has been bastardized, who in 1970 would have ever thought that gay would end up not 20 years later being transformed to remove the word queer or faggot from our lexicon. The Republican establishment has lulled you into thinking conservative means conservatism. In their world it does not but instead means all they want to do is to conserve their positions of power and graft.
I have had it with all ranks of the political establishment. It has turned into a club of attorneys who couldn’t make a living in a court room. Nothing more than professional liars. That is not to say thee are no good people out there who happen to be layers, but they have the same problem as those peace loving Muslims. They have had their chance to clean their own house, now we are forced to clean it up for them.
