President Obama’s weekly remarks

Hello, everybody. Today, there are some 2.2 million people behind bars in America. Millions more are on parole or probation. All told, we spend $80 billion taxpayer dollars each year to keep people locked up.

Many are serving unnecessarily long sentences for non-violent crimes. Almost 60 percent have mental health problems. Almost 70 percent were regular drug users. And as a whole, our prison population is disproportionately black and Latino.

“The problem with our criminal justice system is we have too many criminals left alive. If we executed felons like our forefathers did then the crime rate would be a fraction of what it is today.”

Exactly. This is one where I agree with Obama that we have too many people in prison. The recidivism rate would drop to zero in a lot of cases, too. Lots of benefits to the death penalty.

Ah, the panderer-in-chief strikes again, ginning up some cheap support among the jugged-up black prison population and the liberals who would turn them all loose if they could.

Of course, they'd play racist by not letting the whites out, nope, they gotta stay in da clink...

No, they don't imprison enough. And they don't kill enough. We would solve a lot of problems if we simply carried out death sentences.

I hope some day to see that Rat-Bastard Obama in prison.

That's his real complaint.

Black males between the ages of 14-40 make up 3% of the population yet commit 40% of all the crime.

addiction has a spiritual root, that manifests through repeated choices as a health issue.
Just as many other “health issues” won’t be cured or managed well without handling the spiritual root which is what we each make our individual choices from, our beliefs.

as you said “Once again he sees a legitimate problem and misdiagnoses the cause and solutions. “

another thought for consideration too: “private consensual behaviors” of many kinds, have public consequences in families and larger society.

again it comes back to beliefs (in higher power? all about self? etc etc) and what each person chooses to do with their beliefs which becomes how it effects those around them (family and larger society)

the cause of almost all issues is spiritual beliefs (there truly is good and evil in this world and we get to choose what we are influenced by)

the solution is for people (children to be taught) to have personal responsibility in their choice of what they believe and how they act those beliefs out, and own it when they mess up - make amends best as possible.

every “private” choice effects someone else, everything in this world effects some thing else since we are all always communicating with each other and the world around us whether we realize it or not.

Why can’t we do what Mexico does and just banish them?

Suddenly the insane idea that “The Great ObamaNation”™ will grant an across the board pardon for all this Summer doesn’t seem so far fetched.

It's exactly the opposite. There are hundreds of thousands of gangbangers causing huge problems in many American cities who should be in prison doing hard labor.

The idea that releasing violent criminals from prison or treating violent thugs with a slap on the wrist and a hug will stop the out of control crime in those cities is ludicrous.

Libtard sees same thing and concludes the laws - many of the laws they actually demanded and modified over the years - must be racist.

From what I read on liberal web forums, many libs really believe the white supremacist government causes blacks to commit crimes. Imprisoning them makes money for the prison system. I've read that nonsense on numerous lib web forums.

How the gov. makes young, black males carjack, rob businesses, and beat innocent people is not explained.

How they make them not stay in school or study is not explained, either.

There are some problems with prison labor though. Not in government prisons, more in private-run prisons.

The cause is overwhelmingly our foolish “war on drugs.”

The cause is young, feral, black males who refuse to obey the law. Before the war on drugs crime was already rampant in most cities with large black populations. People with no job will have to get money somewhere to buy what they want. Whether drugs are legal or illegal, the criminal element is going to rob people and businesses to get their money.

Like the recent case of the thug in Florida who got himself shot for burglarizing a home. His sister said "how else he goin' to get his money for clothes?"

"We know that simply locking people up doesn’t make communities safer."

But liberal use of the death penalty certainly would.

Interesting graphic.

However, blacks commit crime at ten times the rate of white criminals; yet blacks are imprisoned at less than six times the rate of white criminals.

Blacks are underrepresented in prison populations.

Might help more if there weren’t so many laws that most people commit three felonies a day without even knowing it.

One of the major reasons we have such a problem with black feral males is because they are black feral fatherless males, because so many people thought it was a good idea to throw their dads in jail for smoking weed.

The propensity for liberals to deny reality is never more evident than in the case of blacks and crime. No matter how hard the libs try to twist it black criminals (like white criminals) are responsible for their situation. Libs cannot stand to face the facts. They either deny the severity of black crime or try to blame it on the "racist" system.

They'll never admit to the truth...although Bill Clinton recently came dangerously close to speaking the truth about black criminals. And, of course, he was called a racist. And he was the first black president too. (snicker)
