Cruz is so disliked by those that work with him that I doubt he could be an effective leader. He does a lot of grandstanding but has been mostly ineffective.

Also, if you think shutting the government down is truly a good idea, how about making sure you have a little support for it first? He never did that. He was ineffective in getting support. In fact, it turned out to be a political win for Obama.

Win for Obama? Not that it did a lot of good, but the GOP in 2014 won the largest number of congressional seats since reconstruction.

He is the most conservative and constitutional politician in DC now or has been in decades. The one person real conservatives have been looking for in decades and we end up with a con-man, no different than Obama, that the GOP is going to nominate to be their candidate. Trump has admitted to lying since he entered the race. He has changed direction on virtually everything he has campaigned on. Let’s face it, until donnie showed up with his lying campaign promises Cruz was your first choice around here, by far. But now he is the scum of the earth?

Trump has attempted to destroy the character of a fine senator from Texas, a senator that has done exactly what he promised us he would do if elected. And that is to not go along to get along with those we despise in DC. No back slapping, glad handing making deals and compromising with the enemy. Now that is terrible in your view? You are mad because he would not make deals? Give in to the establishment whom you claim he is a part of but in actuality they hate him only slightly less than Trump?

So what you are saying is you really want a piece of clay that can be molded and changed to go along to get along? You don’t care about his morals about murdering babies, perverted men in you daughters bathrooms, raising your taxes, not deporting illegals after all(by letting them back in thru the big open door in that might be wall?)

Texas will re-elect Senator Cruz as long as he wants to represent us. He is the first and only politician in my life time that has done exactly as he said and his constituents expected. He has had little if any support from his fellow republicans because they are snakes of the same color as the democrats, something we supposedly abhor but apparently not. You want somebody that Peter King likes.

I would not vote for donnie to suck out my septic tank.

So one US Senator stands up and keeps his commitment to his constituents to limit the size and scope of the federal govenment, while all the other GOP cowards who ran against Obamacare in 2012 having already voted against Obamacare in 2010 sat on their asses, an you side with the GOP cowards. On one side there is a profile in courage, the other a profile in cowardice.

The reason "Obama won" was because the GOPe surrendered the power of the purse. One of many from McConnell, Boner, and the rest of the liberal RINOs.
