Well, for one thing, it would be counterproductive. With three, four or five candidates drawing delegates, it simply prevents anyone from getting to 1237 and ensures that the GOPe gets to install one of their own establishment guys at the convention. The malleable "rules" are designed to to preserve, protect and defend the establishment ruling class. Nothing more.
Cruz knows this. He has betrayed the grassroots.
<<< Cruz cannot stop Hillary. >>>
Perhaps. But Cruz is running a professional campaign based on traditional GOP party rules. Trumps campaign seems seat-of-the-pants, loosey-goosey. Manafort says he is “evolving”. Huh??
Hillary will roll out The A Team of assassins against Trump. He better get that evolving done fast.
Cruz is underperforming. He has no shot at 1237. He cant WIN the nomination. The only thing he can accomplish at this point is destroy the party and therefore allow Hillary to win and to destroy the nation.
Cruz is no conservative. He does not put America first. If he did, he would concede and save the nation a whole lot of turmoil. We need to stop the destruction and unite against Hillary.
I've said from the get-go Cruz is a dark horse for Hillary.
Hey: have you noticed the rest of us are not namecalling, rather trying to sort out strategy like adults to figure how to get the unity going?
Rubio? He doesn't need him; Florida is Trump's!
Think outside of the box....Trump will choose someone nobody has even thought of here, for his VEEP.
I like West, always have, but I don’t think that Trump will pick him.
It’s the Donald who is the dark horse for Hillary, not Sen. Cruz, know matter what you said from the get-go.
Ted, due to what you posted, already has her game plan against him and can VERY EASILY beat him to a bloody pulp, with both hands tied behind her back and fast asleep.
And exactly because Trump is who and what he is, it is he who can easily beat/destroy her and he shall!
You just don't understand any of this at all!
Maybe not, but I can dream. :)
Hey...have you managed to notice that the few of you rabid Cruzites left here, really don’t understand politics at all, but are just posting what you want to happen?
Not at all and you have less than nothing to prove your erroneous point.
Stop “dreaming” and begin to see and live in REALITY!
I think pretty much everyone understands that Kasich is only in the race to deny Trump the Ohio delegates. Or he may be insane.
Either way, appeals for him to do what’s right are pointless.
(Also we don’t have innumerable threads here every day about how he’s going to win despite the fact that he can’t, a la FR Cruz supporters)
But that would make Cruz insecure in his position.
But I mean, what’s the profile/intent of the people voting for him?
“I support Cruz because I think he would implement policies that I favor”
Does that include TPA/TPP and making the most vicious terrorist nation on earth a super Middle Eastern nuclear armed nation, like Cruz?
Please don’t ever post to me again. Thank you.
“Cruz is, in his own words, a driven guy.”
But Trump is not? Who has accomplished more?
Because the iJEB! viters needed somewhere to go?
Seriously, I have no idea.
“It’s just what YOU and a very few others want, but what a majority of voters do NOT”
That’s laughable. What majority? Which one?
The majority of Republican voters?
The majority of American voters?
The majority of eligible voters that stays home every election?
The majority who do show up, including illegal voters?
The majority of electoral votes?
Trump does not have ANY majority in the broader voting arena. Nor does Cruz. Nor do conservatives. Do we need to abandon our principles to win? Is it really a win if we do?
I have supported the most conservative candidate in the race. He is the only one who has come close to representing my values.
But Trump supporters are angry with people like me because I just don’t understand. Or maybe I understand it more than you realize.
Maybe I understand that the ENTIRE point of voting is to elect someone who actually represents me.
The Democrats could throw your statement back in your face and say the majority do not want Trump. So what? It is no different if the majority do not want Cruz as the VP. Too bad. I’ll advocate for it anyway.
And whether you and other Trump supporters like it or not, you are going to have to win over Cruz supporters to beat any Democrat candidate.
If he gets there, I’ll congratulate him and support him.
