Good grief.
2 years ago, anyone who would dare to suggest on FR that cross-dressers should have access to the “public bathroom of their choice” would have been run off the site on a rail (probably after a hefty dose of tar and feathers).
Now that Trump has come out in support of it? People are pooh-pooh-ing it, minimizing it, excusing it, pointing to everyone else in a frenzy of “tu quoque” distractions, and basically everything EXCEPT a conservative, honest response. What’s so wrong with saying “I support Trump, but this is just bad”?
Let’s be honest, here: this position (as with the “abortion exception allowances”) is a bad one (i.e. morally wrong) for Trump. Circling the wagons around your favorite candidate can become dishonest, after a certain point... and I think we’ve reached that point, and then some.
(And please... don’t waste my time with the liberal line of “who are you to judge morality of someone else?” If you’d like to spout that amoral, relativistic nonsense, go try it on DU.)
I think both Cruz and Trump are complete stiffs, but you nailed it on the Trump thing here.
Freegards
The thing is that cross dressers and trans have been using the public bathroom of their choice forever.
Now though, the LGBT groups want it written as law, instead of being done casually and discretely as it has always been.
I can remember for further than thirty years back seeing the occasional odd duck that I suspected was a cross dresser. The ONLY time though, that I have been sexually approached and harassed in a ladies room was by LESBIANS. That has happened about a half dozen times. Now, how do we keep the lesbians out of the ladies room?
