Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus on Friday called for Republicans to unite ahead of the presidential election, striking back against the Never Trump movement.
It is essential to victory in November that we all support our candidate, Priebus said at the RNCs spring meeting in Hollywood, Fla.
This goes for everyone, whether youre a county party chairman, an RNC member, or a presidential candidate. Politics is a team sport, and we cant win unless we rally around whoever becomes our nominee, he added, drawing applause from the audience.
Theyre trying out for our team. No one is forcing them to wear our jersey. We expect our candidates to support our party and our eventual nominee.

Priebus also promised that the nominating process at July’s Republican National Convention in Cleveland would be fair, democratic and transparent, and that the GOP would not give the nomination to anyone who does not secure a majority of delegates.
As our nomination process goes on, we are preparing for all possible scenarios. We might have a nominee by July. Or we might have a nominee through the balloting process at the convention, he said.
The rules say you have to have 1,237 delegates to be the nominee. We arent going to hand the nomination to anyone with a plurality, no matter how close they are to 1,237. You need a majority. Almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.
lulz...... Rancid Preebus and the Washinton DC Republican Party Politburo have been coordinating the state by state robbery of loyal Trump delegates and are uninstalling GOPe party faithful as Trump delegates. Where they turn on Trump in the second ballot onward.
They had better be prepared for a much smaller party if they stiff Trump.
Trump is now GOPE!!!!!
Rancid Preebu-
Like I believe a word coming out the mouth of that two faced liar and spinner. His prime mission is to soft soap Trump and his people.
Dang it, I just sold mine on his last statement...ROFL...
By Trumpeteers’ logic they apply to Cruz he is but...
The GOPe are scared to death..............
Yes, he'll get to 1237 on the first ballot. If he doesn't have enough committed, then the unbound delegates will put him over the top.
His drumbeat of "unfair and rigged" has settled into the electorate. He has the RNC afraid to do anything that the public might possibly perceive as being in his disfavor.
The RNC will not cave on the majority rule... but behind the scenes I'm sure they're making the rule irrelevant to this situation.
Trump's insurgent "novelty" campaign has led to his takeover of the party. Amazing.
Ding, ding, ding - we have a thread winnah.
Reince’s people just called me to renew my Chairman’s Advisory Board membership. Told them to get back to me after the convention to see how they treat Trump.
No Trump, no cash fellas.
Not of Trump. Early on they said they could strike a deal with him. Cruz was the one who would not waver and hard to ‘deal’ with.
Good move.
I don’t vote for pro-aborts, Reince.
Nevertrump!
Notice Rinse left out sitting GOP politicians and their bought and paid for chattering/consultant classes. That’s the core of “never Trump” right there. Rinse is silent on them. Gee, I wonder why?
Reince feeling a little heat from the electorate? Hannity sure took him to task on the delegate process. All Reince could say it is in the rules. That reminds me of Al Gore and “no controlling legal authority”.
As many of us Trump fans have been saying, the RNC faces the choice of embracing the Trump movement and staying in business or fighting him and losing it all. Maintaining control over all those Congressmen is worth as much or more to them than the presidency.
The art of the deal!
Funny how Cruz and the GOPe have struck the deal, and now that the deal didn’t work, the GOPe is trying to back pedal.
