It is impossible for any presidential candidate to be 100% pure on every issue for every conservative. For some, anything less than “All homosexuals are evil and should be lined up against a wall and shot” is soft on homosexuality. Of course taking that position will make that candidate unelectable outside of perhaps 1933 Germany or the modern day Muslim nations.
Now we are reduced to arguing about “grown men peeing next to little girls” which of course is an absurdity. I’ve lived in California, Boston and I now work in New York City. All liberal cesspools. But I’ve never seen or heard of any incidents. People go into public bathrooms, do their business and get out. All this hysteria is much ado about nothing. It’s like when helicopter parents keep their children sheltered and away from playgrounds because they are afraid some 57 year old pervert is sitting on a park bench with a sack of Tootsie rolls to lure them away, It’s all emotional hysteria.
I agree with Trump. It’s too much of a financial burden on businesses to construct a third bathroom for “in-between” people or however you want to define them. Leave it the way it is. Let people choose the bathroom they want to enter. If a crime occurs, enforce the laws already on the books. But building more bathrooms won’t prevent crime.
I’ve been using public bathrooms for years. Never had a problem ever. Other than they are often dirty or the toilet paper is out. I’ve accidentally gone into women’s room before. Not a big deal. No women screaming like you see in the movies. I’m the one that got embarrassed. As well, I’ve brought my own wife or girlfriend into the men’s room when the line for the women’s room is too long. When you have to go, you have to go.
It’s not the problem of “grown men peeing next to little girls”, it’s the problem of being FORCED to accept it, under penalty of prosecution. Decent people are fed up with being FORCED to accept the unacceptable.
You’re not a rape victim, or someone else with reasonable anxieties in the subject.
Segregated washrooms were created by most societies for good reason. Just because that’s working pretty well in preventing problems doesn’t mean we should facilitate those problems thru legislation. Tolerating exceptions and minor transgressions is fine; forbidding averting the onset of a serious problem isn’t.

Cruz is making a mistake in using this to run to the right of Donald in the hopes it peels off the remaining Evangelicals or some such from Trump. But this is the time to pivot towards the center for the main event. Social conservatives have to realize these pet issues that rile up the base like a red flag don't tend to play well in the general election. Leaving this issue behind is a sacrifice play to concentrate on the more important and relevant issues of illegals/border, unfair trade and Islam.
Please name one conservative who is advocating that homosexuals be shot. That is utter left wing homosexualist propaganda. And don’t say the Phelps nutters, because they are a Democrat anti-Christian false flag operation. And your past experience in public bathrooms has no bearing on the issue because the leftist gender radicals that now run our society want to CHANGE the bathroom practice of society such that males are not males and females are not females if they subjectively choose to ignore physical reality.
