I am not invested in Cruz though he is a better choice than Trump by far if one is a conservative. He just could not overcome his likeability short coming. I can admit that because, unlike you, I am not a cultist.

I will give all the Cruzers that point. Cruz is definitely more conservative than Trump on social issues, but as a candidate becomes more conservative on social issues, his elect-ability goes down.
This trend increases as time goes on.
Mayberry is gone and Sheriff Taylor and Barney are dead.
Trump on the other hand, in my opinion is far more conservative on national security, jobs, borders and the economy and has more experience in life than a freshman Harvard Lawyer.
Cruz may be a flash in the pan, no one knows. He hasn’t been in the game very long outside of the Bush nest.
