Again, were talking about a presidential candidate taking two positions on an issue within a span of 12 hours in front of two different audiences. If you dont see the contradiction in that, youre looking for an excuse.
Of course he “expanded” his thoughts. He got slammed for his original thoughts.
I’m not a fan of Cruz either. That said, I’m confident that Cruz would have expressed his personal opinion on the matter and then immediately addressed the constitutionality of the NC law. He would not have had to expand on that part of his answer later after thinking about it some more. Constitutional matters are instinct to Cruz. That’s why he belongs on SCOTUS.
1. Trump says that the ordinance NC made is a mistake.
2. Trump says the States should decide.
Those are not mutually exclusive positions.
As for his original position, he was pointing out that transgender's have been using the opposite sex's bathrooms, making a new law isn't going to change it, but it will allow the Left to bring in the Federal government, which is their intent.
