Earlier today, he criticized North Carolina for passing a strong law saying it was fine as it was.

Now he says it’s a states’ rights issue.

The two statements are mutually exclusive.

Not necessarily mutually exclusive.

It is a State’s Rights issue,,but that doesn’t mean the law passed was stupid/or great. Trump can have an opinion on that law without stepping on the rights of the state.

See the difference?

Exactly - also, the way he chides NC for passing this “strong law” and then points out that now they have everyone attacking them, reminds me of the same twisted logic he used when criticizing Pam Geller for hosting the draw Mohammed contest. While he didn’t explicitly say she was to blame for the attacks that followed, he came close, too close, to doing that, as he did here with his comments about the NC law.

He did not criticize North Carolina...He said that it was bad that they were losing revenue etc because of it...

Not at all.

He can be against NC passing a strong law against it, but acknowledge that it is a State's issue.
