Good point
Stranger Danger, should always be a lesson
Stranger danger, and then overreaction when insufficiently warned children fall for dangerous strangers (who probably aren’t going to be obvious flamers).
I live in a place where there are kids playing in the yard when I return, and I once had a curious little girl follow me to my door asking questions. I dreaded a scene where I would be tagged as the nefarious one for this girl’s curiosity by adults who blame everything on everybody else except themselves. With an “excuse me” I parted company from her through my door, but I was really feeling uncomfortable about irresponsible adults. I couldn’t even say “little girl, be careful around strangers” because somebody might take that as a hint or a threat.
We can’t legislate all evil out of existence. We can try to take proper care of children that are in our care.
