I can understand the promises to the coal sector, but I just don’t see how Trump is going to keep his promises to the steel workers, how is he going to reopen all the steel mills to reemploy all the steelworkers and have them compete with China? Massive government subsidies, tariffs and surcharges?It was the unions and their and the members demands that were a significant part of the American steel industry’s demise.

Can't answer the trivia question. But WV flipped from Dim to Republican between 1996 and 2000. If that had not happened, we'd have had President Gore regardless of what happened in Florida.
Bush won 271 - 266. WV had 5 electoral votes for Bush.
