Wait. So, a city council passing an ordinance is a private business? That’s what the state law was passed to overturn, you know.

This could have all been avoided had the SJWs on the city council minded their own business.

------------

My feelings on this is that a private business should set its own bathroom policy.

When it comes to public restrooms in govt owned land then keep it local and let local representative govt decide.

Conservatives go off the rails when they start to want to impose values on others. We hate values imposed on us so we should not be doing it back to the left. Our principal as conservatives is and always should be keep the govt out of it as much as possible. It is the most beautiful ideology mankind ever invented for itself.

What’s the “due penalty for perversion” cited in Romans chapter 1 — and who made those natural values?

But Trump said the basis should be whatever a person thinks their sex is. Like he is OK with his own business doing this. To the point that he must not care about his other customers who do have a problem with that being the basis of his business allowing whoever into whatever bathroom.

I think everyone should decide for their own business. But he obviously made completely the wrong choice here, right? Or am I missing something? I mean, it is either good or bad for culture, apart from any private business gains or losses, right?

I get disgusted when I hear this attempt at illegitimate reasoning. Among other things, it is a form of false equivalency between what is natural and what is perverted.

But mostly it is a naive assumption that we can have a system where someone's values are not going to get shoved down the throats of people who disagree with them.

Let me set you straight. *ALL LAWS* are someone's values being shoved down everyone's throat. All laws are some form of imposed morality.

You don't get to pick "none of the above." You get to pick a version of morality, and if you don't pick what is natural, you will get what is unnatural shoved down your throat.

Yes I want to *IMPOSE* values on others. Nature does not tolerate a vacuum, and if we don't impose ours, they will impose theirs, and their values lead to misery, sickness, death and bloodshed. We know this because humanity has gone down the path of *their* values too many times, and always with horrible consequences.

Agree, but that is not the situation on the ground. The left is using every level of government to enforce its will. Conservatives sometimes have to use government to block them.
