My original comment was a reply re nominations and the importance of Cruz. Cruz & ‘conservatives’ are not always that loyal to us. Look at Souter & Roberts. Heck, it was a conservative appointed Supreme Court that gave us abortion on demand.
Cruz may or may not be different; but based on the original love for Roberts...

That’s true. Our “conservative” appointments have often disappointed. I miss Justice Scalia’s presence on the court more every day.
From what I’ve heard, Cruz thought Roberts was good, but that that he preferred Mike Luttig, had it been his nomination.
