Jackson adopted an Indian as his son, defeated the British at New Orleans, invaded Florida and wrestled the state from Spain, threatened military force when SC threatened to secede; and fought Indians who slaughtered U.S. settlers. I guess you never heard of Ft. Mims, AL where the Creek Indians massacred 400 men, women, children, and African slaves. This and other incidents were part of many reasons many Indians were moved to Oklahoma. He was a soldier, and a damned fine one, who attacked our enemies with zeal. You do know that he adopted two Indian children that he rescued during the campaign and who he raised as his own.
