A group of former agents has written a letter to FBI Director Comey saying the future of the bureau hinges on what happens in the investigation of Hillary Clintons private email server. The letter from a group of retired agents in Long Island compares the Clinton email scandal to another famous FBI case known as ABSCAM. ABSCAM involved public corruption of politicians who were filmed taking bribes from a fictitious front company. Fox News published the letter over the weekend. It reads:
Dear Director Comey,
The Long Island Chapter of the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI, hereinafter called the Chapter, would like to extend our ardent support for you and the agents involved in the enormous challenge with which you are confronted the investigation into an email controversy involving a high government officials alleged mishandling of classified information on her private email server.
In 1978 a number of agents in the Chapter were directly involved in a sting operation, ABSCAM, a highly publicized investigation of which Judge William Webster said at the outset, The future of the FBI rests on this case. Yours and the bureaus challenge today is a far cry from what existed thirty-eight years ago. Similarly, it is the Chapter memberships opinion that not only does the future of the Bureau but also that of the United States of America rests on the outcome of this crucial case. Decisions must be made on facts alone. Much is at stake here peoples trust in the Bureau for years to come, as well as the Bureaus reputation among our allies, partners, and friends as the greatest law enforcement agency in the world.
You have the enthusiastic respect of the Chapter, and we are certain of the loyalty of all former agents of the FBI.
It would be easy to read too much into this. This is one group of former agents in Long Island. The suggestion that the future of the country depends on this case sounds like something a group of conservatives might say. In other words, this does not sound like a group of completely disinterested observers. The sound like people who want to see Clinton prosecuted.
On the other hand, it would also be too easy to dismiss this as nothing more than a group of retired partisans. Just because these retired agents seem to have an opinion does not mean they are wrong. For one thing, retired agents probably have more insight into the investigation than non-agents. That doesnt necessarily mean they are getting leaks from inside the FBI but some of them may still have connections. Their suggestion that the case should turn on the facts alone suggests they have a sense of what the facts are and also that they are concerned about political pressure which might impact the decision apart from those facts. Even if these agents dont have access to insider information on the case, they probably do have a sense of how political pressure works inside the FBI and that concern prompted this letter.
The good news is that Director Comey appears to be that rare individual in the Obama administration who doesnt feel the need to coordinate his actions with the White House. Some reports have suggested the FBI investigation could be completed next month.
>>This POS govt. is more corrupt than Mexico’s. Bar none.<<
Agree.
You would use the law to oppose socialism? But it is upon the law that socialism itself relies. Socialists desire to practice legal plunder, not illegal plunder. Socialists, like all other monopolists, desire to make the law their own weapon. And when once the law is on the side of socialism, how can it be used against socialism? For when plunder is abetted by the law, it does not fear your courts, your gendarmes, and your prisons. Rather, it may call upon them for help. - “The Law”; Frederic Bastiat (1801-1850)

Agency-abetted TREASON
I very much doubt you. You either have a very poor memory or are very young.
It was the FBI who wired Linda Tripp so that she could record the luncheon meetings with Monica Lewinski that should have ended Slick Willie's political career.
It is very difficult to predict the future if one is unaware of or ignores the past. The Republicans were able to impeach him but he was saved by the Democrats.
Comey is Hillary’s homey, so get used to it, G-men.
Her Thighness waddles into the WH in 2017 carried by the gibsmedats, faggies, bathroom crashers, & feminazis.
Patriots, govern yourselves accordingly.
Thanks for posting. I had heard a snippet of this letter on the radio, but didn’t catch the writers’ identity. Now I see it is one (small?) chapter. However many chapters there are, here’s hoping others follow suit. We need an authoritative squeaky wheel here.
Obama did not vet Comey as well as he should have if he wanted a lackey. He took the difficulty Bush had with Comey as partisan rather than integrity. Obama wouldn’t know integrity of it bit him on the ass.
If the FBI decides that no crimes were committed then their reason should be just incredible.
$10 says Hillary is never charged.
I agree that she won’t be charged. Instead she’ll get so sick she won’t be able to go to the FBI interview. Of course that means she’s out of the race. The other possibility is she retires from life at a time not of her choosing.
People on this board are all talking about Comey the way they did about Chief Justice Roberts BEFORE he upheld Obamacare.
Prepare to be disappointed people. Hillary walks. She’s a Clinton. It’s what they do.
Director Comey is out no matter who get elected. And he knows it. Hillary will get him a cushy job at Ginny Mae, so he doesn’t care.
Since when has the FBI got much credibility anyway? I lost all respect for them when they hounded poor old Richard Jewell to the brink of suicide over the Olympic Park bombing. Of course there’s Waco, Ruby Ridge and Elian Gonzalez. All that being said Hillary is so dirty I doubt even the FBI will be able to refrain from recommending indictment. Lynch will simply drag her feet til OSlime is out of office. Hopefully Trump will string her up.
Isn't the Hildebeast the one who said that laws were made for little people? Unfortunately for all of us little people, the fix is in. I hope I am wrong, but I am not confident.
Clinton was saved by Republican Slade Gorton, a transplanted Massachusetts liberal.
