To: Let's Roll
FYI..., a few years after 9/11, the FAA became a little more diligent in determining the ownership of US Registered Aircraft. The aircraft registrations prior to that time DID NOT EXPIRE..., they established rolling expiration dates. If an aircraft was down for lengthy maintenance it is common for the expiration date to occur (after all it is not going anywhere until restored to airworthy condition). Just another Trump Hit Piece among countless others.

Thanks for that. It saved me the time of looking it up. My husband and I owned and operated a flying club for years and owned several general aviation airplanes and never had to renew a plane’s registration. We were in business after 9/11 and hadn’t run into anything like this but it does look like things have changed. We closed the business in 2006. Stay alive long enough and you will learn all kinds of new things!
