The United States does not consider the Golan Heights to be a part of Israel, State Department spokesperson John Kirby stressed on Monday, a day after Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu vowed the Golan Heights "will forever remain under Israeli sovereignty."
"The U.S. position on the issue is unchanged," Kirby told reporters during a daily briefing at the State Department in Washington, according to Haaretz.
"This position was maintained by both Democratic and Republican administrations. Those territories are not part of Israel and the status of those territories should be determined through negotiations. The current situation in Syria does not allow this," he added.
On Sunday, the Israeli cabinet held a special meeting on the Golan Heights and Netanyahu opened the meeting with a declaration that the Golan Heights will always remain under Israeli control."
The Prime Minister also called upon the international community to recognize Israels control of the territory.

F#CK the State Department; they have been nothing but a nest or traitorous vipers in the bosom of the United States since 1916.
Kerry does not speak for patriotic Americans
The really important thing is what does God think is part of Israel
You mean the entire UN, most of the world doesn’t give a sh#t.
FU#K THE UN, FU#K OBASTARD, and FU#K THE STATE DEPARTMENT.
None of the assholes that belong to, or are part of those organizations speak for me.
The peace treaty between Egypt and Israel was signed 16 months after Egyptian president Anwar Sadat's visit to Israel in 1977 after intense negotiation. The main features of the treaty were mutual recognition, cessation of the state of war that had existed since the 1948 ArabIsraeli War, normalization of relations and the complete withdrawal by Israel of its armed forces and civilians from the Sinai Peninsula which Israel had captured during the Six-Day War in 1967. Egypt agreed to leave the area demilitarized. The agreement also provided for the free passage of Israeli ships through the Suez Canal, and recognition of the Strait of Tiran and the Gulf of Aqaba as international waterways.
The agreement notably made Egypt the first Arab state to officially recognize Israel.
The UN MFO is still in Sinai monitoring the peace agreement.
LOL. Who gives a sh*t what you think?
“When it comes to Mexifornia, Im almost in agreement.”
Applied to New York city, I almost agree.
“The current situation in Syria does not allow this,” he added.”
But we mention the US’ position again just to be a pain in the arse.
Good to hear Netanyahu stand strong on the issue. There is a saying “that the spoils of war go to the victor”. I remember well that shocking unprovoked attack that forced Israel to take the Sinai and Golan Heights. Only an unjust man would suggest Israel give the Golan away. To barbarians and dictators?
