California, once one of the most beautiful places in the nation and a cultural leader and trend-setter, has basically committed suicide.

Nobody defeated California in a war, but it’s cities are going to be third-world pits with no jobs and politicians who stand on the balconies and offer cash handouts, a la Argentina.

Why?

California still is a beautiful place to see. But,
physical climate and and political climate are not the
same thing. California is a prime example of the idea
that if you do not actively fight for conservatism then liberalism will fight
until it gets a choke hold. If any
entity or organization has a political
aspect to it then it is a target for
liberal control. Examples include AARP
and The League of Women Voters.

California has long had a history of
attracting and accepting free thinkers.
Liberals don’t like free, independent
thinkers unless they are also liberal.
Those of us who have lived in beautiful
rural areas have welcomed city people
and others to share the place we have
called home for generations. They thank
us by changing everything our area is
about. On a statewide level the same
thing happened to California.

Well, while your comment about CA committing suicide is spot on, you need to take a look around before you make the blanket statement about our cities. Los Angeles is not going to fare well, but San Francisco, is booming with no end in sight. The building going on there for very expensive housing is frenetic. Our daughter works for one of the largest commercial contractors in SF, and they are overloaded with work. Furthermore, a lot of areas that were lost to the trash minorities have been reclaimed and now are home to the newest batch of Silicon Valley professionals who commute to and from their jobs in Prevost buses with breakfast served on the way down, and cocktails on the way back. California needs to cut off that goiter known as Los Angeles, but not SF.
