But a man who invited the Clintons to his wedding, contributed to their foundation and campaign, plus helped finance the 2006 and them congressional takeover that eventually gave us a Obamacare isn’t the least bit treacherous?

Whatever Trump has or has not done has nothing to do with what Ted Cruz has and has not done. Each candidate stand and falls on their own merits and demerits. In the first place Ted Cruz lied, is not a natural born citizen, and is not a lawful candidate for POTUS. In the second place, even if you set aside the fact Ted Cruz is not a lawful candidate, his unethical conduct disqualifies him for consideration. In the third place, there can be no hope whatsoever to see Ted Cruz win the General Election against any Democrat candidate whatsoever. Not only will a large number of Republicans and Independents choose to stay home and not vote rather than vote for Cruz or the Socialist/communist Democrat candidate, a large number of Democrats who are voting for Trump will instead vote for the Democrat candidate or stay home and vote for no candidate. Fourthly, Ted Cruz will have no control over a rogue Congress that despises his guts and will do everything they can on both sides of the aisle to thwart Ted Cruz and continue the hollowing out of the U.S. economy in exchange for money, privilege, and power.

However imperfect Trump may be, the greater plurality of voters of all political persuasions find some measure of hope in Trump’s promised efforts to serve their economic and security interests not being offered by the other candidates, especially after Ted Cruz’s role in a number of bad trade deals like TPP. Consequently, attacking Trump for his faults as a means of changing the subject away from the failings of Ted Cruz and his politics is having a counter-productive effect. Although it is far too late for Ted Cruz to do so now, the only way he could have swayed the voters was to have become enough of an experienced business leader focused on fundamental reversal of the trade imbalance caused by government mismanagement to establish credibility with the voters against the very globalist elite from whom Ted Cruz is receiving support today in his election campaign. Bashing Trump no matter how justified or unjustified is not going to compensate for Ted Cruz’s own disqualifications.
