Trump does not do well in states where party hacks vote and regular people don’t. Like Colorado for instance. Cruz excels where party hacks vote and most people do not which is why he has won only 4 of 20+ elections this primary season but does great at conventions and caucuses.
Yes, there is no doubt that if you can win a state with about 500 establishment guys that Cruz has that market cornered-— It is dealing with actual voters and human beings that Cruz can sometimes struggle...
Cruz has no problem with voters in all those reliably red states in the west. Voters do vote on these delegates. Every registered Republican can participate in the conventions.
So your theory is that when those state legislators and party big-wigs were selected a couple years ago— that the voters were selecting Cruz over Trump, so there is no need to allow them to vote now? Let’s leave it up to the 500 people in the establishment?
I think we can agree if you are reasonable.. You admit that we don’t need or want 500 establishment guys selecting our nominee in place of the voters and this process should change for the next election cycle.. and I will agree that Cruz has played by the rules and that these votes are as legitimate as any Trump has earned..

I think you meant to say that every registered Republican can vote in their local precinct caucus to select committeemen to represent their best interests at the county convention. I’m pretty sure that it is just those delegates that they elected from their precinct that can vote at the county.
Maybe. I had heard something described as district conventions that selected delegates to go to state conventions. Whatever the process, it does start at the level of voters voting for candidates. Trump, er, Drudge Report constantly claims these are “voterless” elections, which is just flat out false.
I don’t necessarily agree. I like that party nominees are chosen by people willing to spend more time during the process, not just people casually popping in and out to cast a vote in 5 minutes. Electing people to represent any organization should be done by people truly committed to that organization. The caucus/convention process seems to be electing people who represent the party platform better this time.
I would want to get rid of any winner-take-all rules, which are the most undemocratic part of the process. The Democrats have the right idea with proportional representation for delegates only. And I like New York’s rule that you have to be registered as a Republican for 8 or so months to vote in the primary. I want absolutely no crossover voting. Electing our nominee should be by committed party members only.
Democracy is for the general election. Our party needs to be run by people with a minimal history in our party, not casual people coming out of nowhere the day of the election to vote.

Perhaps if we stuck to the issues instead of attacking someone the Cruz supporters admire (with good reasons if you read the positions Cruz has actually taken and the votes he has actually cast instead of judging him by the attacks his opponents launch), they would be enthusiastic in supporting the eventual anti-Amnesty, anti-Obamacare, and pro-gun nominee.
I would categorize almost every presidential candidate of the past several decades as arrogant, including both Trump and Cruz, with Carson either a rare exception or better at hiding it. All of them, including Trump and Cruz have from time to time cast the facts in the best possible spin for their positions, and all have staff who have gone beyond that level to outright lies. As for "creepy", that comes from believing the attacks against Cruz (or against Trump), not from reality.
Attacks on Trump or his wife as people may make Cruz more likely to get the nomination, but they are also more likely to elect Hillary. Similarly, attacks on Cruz or his wife as people may make Trump more likely to get the nomination, but they are also more likely to elect Hillary.
The best thing for Trump as a candidate is for both Cruz and Kasich to drop out, but that isn't going to happen. Kasich will not drop out. If Kasich stays, the best thing for Trump is for Cruz to stay too. That doesn't guarantee a Trump win, but a three-person race gives Trump the best odds short of both rivals dropping out. Trump voters should not resent Cruz for staying.

They could not have addressed it, unless it happened to the voters fist hand and they experienced it for themselves. Otherwise it would not have had the effect it’s having now. They knew they had no chance with the party members and activists (who have been involved in the process for decades) were firmly planted in the NeverTrump arena.
Sure, Trump knows it’s corrupt, but the fact is you have to get the people to see it and feel it for themselves in order for it to spread across the news and the internet the way it has...to my point, we are discussing it right now :)

Yep, Citizens vote and the keep voting right up until the convention after the primaries call district conventions. Something tRump does not know about because he does not know squat about our political system of government that we participate in. The only system he knows is, open his wallet and pay off the people to get what he wants.
These are "real people" that vote at the district conventions. Real people that do more than just go to rallies to buy Tshirts and ball caps and wave mass produced signs. They participate in the political process by getting up and spending a day caucusing, then voting.
Is this number reflect the delegates that tRump lost yesterday in GA because he was lazy and failed to start his engine again on his ground game mower?

This is what Wyoming has decided as a State on how to hold it's primary.
There are several decisions on why but the final decision is made in Wyoming.
Maybe because of it's large size and sparse population maybe they feel this is the best fit.
The idea of not engaging in the political process chosen by a state if you are SERIOUS about running for the presidency is ABSURD. The process has been engaged in by every Republican and Democrat who’s run for the presidency before. A candidate suddenly coming in now and whining about it after he lost is just embarrassing.
Trump promised he can hire the best people. Why did Cruz manage to hire someone better to navigate the election rules and fund a reasonable campaign? Why did Cruz actually show up to speak at the caucus while Trump didn’t bother? Is Trump the new low-energy candidate in the race?
Is Trump part of the “everybody gets a trophy” movement?
