Looks like Colorado knows how to hold a regular primary, when it wants to. They have one on June 28, 2016 for every office EXCEPT PRESIDENT. From the Senate on down. Sounds like regular voters are allowed to register their opinion on this election, without voting for blind delegates, evidently.
Your thoughts?
A change to a straw poll is a rule change.
Corker turned the Constitution in its head, requiring a 2/3 vote to override Obama’s veto of a law that had to be passed to stop a unilateral executive agreement with a foreign government, rather than a 2/3 positive vote for a treaty with a foreign government as required by the Constitution.
Your defense of this abomination utterly discredits whatever else you might say, and his vote for it gives lie to Cruz’ claim to defend the Constitution.
Great post.
Trump also donated to the “Hillary For President” group back in 2010. He has long been a Clinton friend and supporter, in fact. Inconvenient facts for the Trump camp.
And as for your nasty (but typical Trump camp) comment here...
Take that and shove it.
You first.
Can a state force a political party to choose its delegates via primary? I don’t think so.
I love people who run around saying “the rules are the rules” when they have no argument. You are right, the GOP makes the rules for their party but that doesn’t mean we have to play their game. The culture, customs, and of America allow us to tell party hacks like you to f-off and get out of our way.
Why don’t you go to Cuba and pimp children to tourists? That is ok by the “rules” there.
BS. Enough with the lies already. Quit your crying. Your candidate put forth a half-ass effort and now wants to falsely blame others for it.
The rigged outcome in CO is already having a negative effect on Cruz’s
poll numbers.
He will get wiped out in northern states, just as he got wiped out in the south.
And then back to the senate he limps where he can shut the govt down
every 6 months or so.
You are missing the whole point of what the Colorado GOP did... The outrage is NOT about Trump. It is the Colorado GOP basically flipped off the citizens of Colorado, in order that a 'few' could select the already pre-determined delegates, for the pre-determined nominee. (NEVER/TRUMP) The GOP business model was deceptive at best and a complete fraud at worst.
By the way I would NOT support Trump getting delegates using the Colorado GOP method... The outrage is about 'we the people'... and that the Colorado GOP sealed the deal that once again, Colorado will go DEM come November.
“Are you saying the federal government”
Right. Was “federal government’ anywhere in my post?
Then what are you Trump guys bitching, moaning and whining about? You should be happy, happy, happy...right? (like that will ever happen...lolol)
I was thinking lunch counter, but the bus works too.
The people in the US used to be involved in local politics. Try to find a local newspaper or radio station that isn’t just an outlet for AP national news or Network talk crap.
Politics at the local level used to vote for delegates to the state convention, and they nominate delegates to the national convention. That was back in the smoke filled room days. You would get a candidate who could run because the good ole boys knew where every body was buried. No scandals would come out because “they were taken care of.”
Colorado just did what pols have been doing forever. It’s just that no one was paying attention for the last 28 years or so.
Straw polls are not meaningless. And I bet you know this quite well.
Blind voting is awesome! Cruz’s Colorado plan and the gloat has cost him greatly and he is plummeting in the polls.
Sources claim that a large portion of the delegates had been pre-slated for Jeb. They are now acting as Cruz delegates, but in reality they are party placeholders for the GOP nominee choice. Trojan horse delegates.
in 2012, 66,000 voted. Rick Santorum beat Mitt Romney with over 6% of the vote. Rick got only 6 delegates and Romney took the majority 28. (someone forward this to TRUMP)
in 2016, no one voted and here is the link to chosen delegates. http://www.thegreenpapers.com/P16/CO-R
I do not necessarily disagree. What was different in Colorado was the Colorado GOP tweeted #NeverTrump... after their PTA style delegate selection. The instant ability to spread worldwide on the ground events, allows those suspicious of corruption to actually have it verified. The dumbest thing is for the Cruz supporters to cheer political corruption... Turns out they have no problem with political corruption, and make false accusations against Trump.
AND Cruz's lust for power was openly exposed... he looks like a barnyard rooster crowing, the many be damn.
COLORADO is for CHEATERS!
In 2012, 66,000 Republicans voted.
Rick Santorum beat Mitt Romney with over 6% of the vote.
Rick got only 6 delegates.
Romney took 28 delegates
Colorados good at cheatin
Most the folks too high to notice.
2016 Blind election until the state convention. Now we have 6500 people choosing the nominee.
Unseat the entire CO delegation. Cut their delegates by 50% for 2020.
True. Cruz followers continue to argue idiosyncrasies in the process. Trump is exposing how corrupt the process itself is, and not just the GOP side of things. If the DNC and GOP want to remain relevant at all, they will both have to retool from top to bottom.
Ad hominem attacks are all you have? Weak.
People are speaking up, including county GOP chairmen, to say the rules were, in fact, NOT followed in many places in CO. It is likely that challenges will be upheld invalidating many of the ill-gotten delegates. This is all within the rules that Cruz supporters have, up until now, been all for.
Funny how things change when the shoe is on the other foot.
“Great post.”
Thank you. I’m just getting so frustrated that Trump is willing to tear down the liberty movement, just as we are starting to make progress, in order to advance his own personal ambitions. And that his followers don’t have the discernment to see what is really going on. Most of them are just as nasty as Trump. That’s creating a schism in the conservative/tea party movement that I’m afraid it will take years to heal, if ever.
