Thus sayeth the jag-off who did his own private negotiations with the North Vietnamese to end run official channels . . .
We could have shot down those Russian jets but considering where our ship was in the Baltic Sea, it could have been sunk soon afterwards.
I remember this stuff happened all the time. Ivan would fly all sorts of planes including Bear and Backfire bombers right through a carrier task force.
Yeah, shoot down an aircraft in international airspace. We used to do that to aircraft from smaller nations like Libya, but not the Soviet Union.
The sad part about this is that we had no assets in the area that could have scrambled from Germany to ‘escort’ the Russians out of the frigate’s operational area.
Yeah...its justified...because he has a bunker to run off to. The rest of us schmucks—SOL.
This is not Vietnam or Cambodia or wherever he got lost.
[...can’t get any dumber...]
When I was in Navy, I worked in Combat Information Center aboard ship and every aircraft nearing the ship would be sent a IFF (Identify Friend or Foe), in this case, the aircraft before it was actually seen would have signaled friend or be shot down.
are you guys children? Some pilot act recklessly and hurt no-oone and you want to start a war that kill millions of people over it?
02/11/2008... U.S. fighter planes intercepted two Russian bombers, including one that buzzed an American aircraft carrier in the western Pacific during the weekend, The Associated Press has learned.
06/15/2015....In the video, a Su-24 aircraft appears in the distance, then zooms by the USS Ross — a guided-missile destroyer.(In the Black Sea)
04/14/2014...The Pentagon confirmed Monday that a Russian Sukhoi Su-24, known within NATO as a Fencer, made 12 passes of Navy destroyer the USS Donald Cook on Saturday evening. The jet came within 1,000 yards of the ship at an altitude of roughly 500 feet above sea level.
Just to highlight a few instances...Wake up Josh Earnest
Contrast this response with what happened with the US Navy vessel and Iran.
Then why didn't ya do it John F%*&$#+@ Kerry?
Last time you got hold of a weapon, you shot yourself in the ass.
A new op-ed published by the Global Times, the mouthpiece of the ruling Chinese Communist Party, claims that Russia humiliated an arrogant United States when its warplanes buzzed a U.S. Navy ship in the Baltic Sea earlier this week.
ON BOARD THE U.S.S. JOHN C. STENNIS, in the South China Sea As it tries to persuade Beijing to abandon its military buildup in the South China Sea, the Obama administration has been reluctant to describe its approach as a revival of containment, the Cold War strategy aimed at preventing the spread of Communism. It insists that its policies in Asia are neither targeted at China nor focused on military measures, as containment was against the Soviet Union.
But on a six-day visit to India and the Philippines this week, Defense Secretary Ashton B. Carter left little doubt that China is one of the Pentagons primary concerns in the region and that the United States intends both to strengthen alliances and move more hardware and troops here to counter Chinas growing military reach.

Who was it that said “This sh*t will get outta control...”
This stuff isn’t new. Its irritating and disrespectful but not new.
From John Kerry, veteran of a curiously short 4 month tour in Vietnam. Was sent packing by his own squadron mates. You know the rest.
in the mid 60’s carrier attack forces in the med had standing orders to shoot down any russian bomber approaching closer than 300 miles... soon as the badgers and bears would launch from egypt, so would the fighters to intercept them... some of the phantom pilots would bump wings and put greetings about russian mothers in view of the russian pilots...
likewise russian subs and komar and kosar patrol boats were monitored and similar rules involved (not the milage one).. the russian subs constantly tracked and ran simulated attacks on the carriers and they could move at close to 50 knots..
they would actually sit under the carrier and simulate sinking the screen..
the life expectancy of a carrier is about 10 minutes in wartime and the goal is to launch the planes...
russian ships would cut through formations and come within less than 75 yards in front of destroyers and do so at night... like a game of chicken... the russians would lock on with their fire control radar and be ready to fire... leveling and pointing their guns in passing...
A4’s were launched with a nuke and unless diverted had targets designated.
essentially both sides had their finger on the trigger.
swiftboat rice in the butt john is was and always will be a pathetic assclown and gifted his inlaws with a nuke as a wedding gift... the toughguy talk is exactly that.... hot air... for ussa consumption... putin laughs at this administration.... not so much Trump...
Well kids, this is your brain on Botox.
Kerry’s attempting to start a nuclear war?
If Kerry, Valerie Jarrett, Obama and families all leave the US at the same time - maybe we should seek a fallout shelter...
Oooooh, big man you are, John.
Umm say there was a Russian shop patroling in water’s very close to Long Island. What would have been the US response??
